Quiz Nite raises £80.00

A Big thank you to the managers at the Hoy and Helmet Benfleet for hosting a quiz nite to benefit Essex Dementia Care.
Our team came a respectable third place and a good night was had by all.

Essex Dementia Care gets a Printer!

A HUGE thank you to Copybest & the Lions

Copybest Essex Ltd, delivered EDC a new colour printer on Monday. Chris Riggall from the sales dept., and his colleague delivered the large printer with much huffing and puffing and wondering whether they would have to take the door off…. ! Luckily they didn’t and we now have installed our lovely new printer. The Lions Club of Braintree raised £500 to pay for the printer and all we have to pay for are the copies and the paper! The office staff here at EDC are looking forward to printing leaflets, posters, newsletters and the new brochure. Here EDC Operations Director Gerry Moore & Care Manager Debbie Davis thank Copybest.

Health & Wellbeing Show ~ Rayleigh

Essex Dementia Care will be exhibiting at the Health & Wellbeing Show at the Mill Arts & Events Centre (Mill Hall) in Rayleigh, on Thursday 17th November from 10.00am to 2.00pm.

The event is being organised by Rayleigh, Rochford & District Association for Voluntary Services (RRAVS) in partnership with NHS SE Essex Primary Care Trust.

Road Show success

Our Road Show on 6 August in Braintree went well. Sharon (below) survived her bean bath challenge and we raised over £1000; more contributions are still coming in.

It was a great day; fun was had by all and, much more important, we made contact with a number of local families who are living with dementia and in need of support.

Les Littler, our intrepid Snowdon mountaineer (in action, below), presented us with a cheque for an amazing £1514, raised from his recent sponsored climb. Les – thank you – you’re a star! Les said he was more tired after 8 hours rattling collection boxes with us than he was after his climb.

Councillor Janet Money, chairman of Braintree District Council very kindly came along to add some civic weight to the occasion. We much appreciated her interest and participation.

Essex Chronicle and the Braintree and Witham Times came along too, and the Chronicle gave us a big spread on page three. Numerous jokes about page three girls have been forthcoming!
