Tessa is an occupational therapist who has been working in the dementia care field for 25 years. She is a dementia care trainer and author of numerous books and publications on the therapeutic use of occupation in dementia care. Tessa is Clinical Director of Essex Dementia Care.

Gerry has over 25 years’ experience in social care.  He is a qualified social worker and has extensive management experience across older peoples’ services, carers’ support and dementia care. Gerry is Director of Operations.
April Lawler April Lawlor
April is a social worker with over 30 years experience of social care. Her main area of expertise is in service management and development, particularly in older people’s mental health. April works for Essex County Council as Senior Strategic Commissioning Officer and is a trustee for Essex Dementia Care.
Arthur Weavers Arthur Weavers
Arthur is a trustee for Essex Dementia Care and husband and full-time carer for Beryl. He is a retired businessman and brings us a wealth of experience from many years of running his own company.
Sylvia Gaspar Sylvia Gaspar
Sylvia has over 15 years experience of dementia care. She holds the Leeds Metropolitan University Professional Diploma in Dementia Care and has been actively involved with the Alzheimer’s Society for many years in both voluntary and professional capacities. Sylvia works as a self-employed dementia care trainer and practitioner.
Debbie Davis Debbie Davis
Debbie brings to the team a wealth of experience in personnel and business management. She holds the NVQ Level 4 in Management and the NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care. Debbie is Manager for Essex Dementia Care.
Hazel Skeet Hazel Skeet
Hazel originally qualified and worked as a Registered Mental Nurse before moving into healthcare-related but non-nursing roles for some years. She has extensive experience of supporting people who have emotional and mental health problems. Hazel works part-time for Essex Dementia Care and has recently regained her nursing registration.
Sharon Jones Sharon Jones
Sharon has worked for six years with older people and people with dementia and has a particular interest and expertise in delivering therapeutic activities in the care setting. She is a qualified dementia care practitioner and has had substantial experience as an Activity Co-ordinator in a local care home.
Kelly Bleasdale Kelly Bleasdale
Kelly comes to us with 8 years experience of working at a senior level in a care home for older people and people with dementia. She holds the NVQ2 in Health and Social Care and a substantial portfolio of complementary qualifications. Kelly has a special concern to enhance the quality of life of people who have dementia.
Georgina White Georgina White
Georgina has many years experience in the care and management of older people and people who have dementia. She holds the NVQ 2 in Health and Social Care and the City & Guilds Level 2 Award in Awareness of Dementia.
Katie Still Katie Still
Katie is a dramatherapist with a BA Hons in drama and theatre studies and an MA in dramatherapy. She is an independent practitioner under the name Threshold Dramatherapy and is a visiting lecturer at Roehampton University. Katie leads workshops at our activity centres.
