Led by Alzheimer’s Society, Dementia Action Week is a national event that sees the public coming together to improve the lives of people affected by dementia. This Dementia Action Week, Alzheimer’s Society is asking you to help cure the care system by urging government to reform social care now.
‘Right now, nearly 1 million people with dementia and their families are struggling to get the support from the UK’s broken social care system that they need and deserve.
Decades of chronic underfunding and neglect have led to a care system that’s difficult to access, costly, inadequate and deeply unfair. More than 40% of family carers spend over 100 hours per week caring for a love one living with dementia.
Until things change, a dementia diagnosis will continue to claim more than one life, as families facing dementia feel its destructive effects. But it doesn’t have to be this way…’ -Alzheimer’s Society
Alzheimer’s society are calling on the Government to cure the care system now!
