Last week we had lovely weather so our Every Day Counts group visited our allotment in Bradwell. Clients enjoyed their time outside planting seeds, watering the plants, and relaxing in the shade. They all had a lovely time and we look forward to spending more time there during the summer! Research from The Dementia Centre has shown that the health of people with dementia who spent as little as 10-15 minutes outside a day improved significantly. Being outside in nature is said to reduce stress levels and increase people’s self-esteem, allowing for people to carry out various activities and sociability as well as contact with nature.
