Sound advice for those caring for loved ones with dementia

At Essex Dementia Care we appreciate that caring for loved ones with dementia can take its toll on the everyday care-giver. Sometimes a short period of respite can be a welcomed break. Carers then  have time to themselves to go shopping or meet friends, confident that their loved one is happy and in very capable hands. As well as providing a stimulating and supportive environment for our clients we are also here to provide emotional support for their care-givers.

Our Everyday Counts, and Oasis Groups offer clients different levels of engaging activity and are a full day event, including lunch and refreshments. Or there is the One2One service which is tailored to every individual client’s interests, hobbies, or preferred activity at home or out and about. You can find more information on each of the services here

Based on extensive research, the Alzheimer’s Society has put together some extremely useful information that can help carers cope with the challenges they face and improve their health and wellbeing. Read the full guidance .

If you or a loved one are interested in attending one of our groups or engaging in a One2One session then please call our friendly team to book your free ‘Taster Day’ on 01245 363789.

We have promised to help more people with DEMENTIA in 2024 and are happy to announce the opening of a new ‘Every Day Counts’ activity centre in WRITTLE, Chelmsford.
