The group at Sandon, Chelmsford kicked off National Picnic Week by painting lovely bears to join them for tea!

This was followed by the reading of a beautiful poem all about a cup of tea, picnic bingo, and lots of reminiscing about picnics from their past.

After the Teddy bean bag challenge there was a joyful sing-along to the Henry Hall song ‘If you go down in the woods today’ – a really fun day!

A CUP OF TEA
“Strong or weak to steep it,
A matter of personal taste,
Every sip is savoured joy,
With not a drop to waste.
Some prefer a mellow brew,
For others Strong’s the best,
My father said a good cup of tea,
Should put hairs upon your chest.
Whether sipped from a china cup,
Or an ordinary mug,
One thing is certainty,
Tea should never be chugged.
For those who like this tincture,
None will disagree,
The nicest way to start the day, is with a cup of tea.”
