Raising dementia awareness with KEGS School

Our Senior Manager, Kelly Bleasdale visited KEGS School in Chelmsford to congratulate and present the winning students with their prizes.

Over 50 pupils entered the Dementia Awareness house art and poetry competition last term and it was a great pleasure working with KEGS on this project and judging the outstanding entries was a privilege. It is our mission to help more people with activity based dementia care, however, we are also always keen to raise awareness for dementia in the community and are grateful to the school for their participation”.

Keith Milliken, a representative of the leadership team at KEGS said “It was a pleasure to meet Kelly and have her distribute the prizes to our winners. We are so glad to have been able to work with EDC on this venture and have such a substantial number of students, across all year groups, submit an entry in the form of artwork, poetry or a short story connected to memories. No doubt, the link with the work of Essex Dementia Care has sparked conversations here at school and at home for many of our staff and students. Thank you once again and we hope to be part of your plans for 2024.”

A big thank you to all that entered from the team at Essex Dementia Care.

We have promised to help more people with DEMENTIA in 2024 and are happy to announce the opening of a new ‘Every Day Counts’ activity centre in WRITTLE, Chelmsford.
