One2One – laying flowers

Mary had often spoken to her ‘Memory Companion’ Kerry about putting flowers down at her Husband’s grave when they passed the churchyard on previous visits.

Kerry checked with Mary’s daughter who thought it was a great idea. First Mary and Kerry popped to the Vineyard’s in Great Baddow to visit the Glasshouse Cafe to get Mary some refreshments.  They then set off to the Co-op to buy some flowers and Mary chose some beautiful purple carnations. Once at the Church yard, Mary remembered where the grave was and helped to arrange the flowers on her Husband’s headstone with a Scottish flag that she had put there on a previous visit. Although it’s a sombre thing to do on a visit, it brought great joy to Mary and when they got back home they realised that it would have been Mary and her husband’s wedding anniversary on the next Sunday so Mary was even more pleased that she went.
